Janey stops to sketch St. Michael's Mont. Then Penzance and a feeling of having gotten somewhere. It's so different from the retirement Village of St. Ives. Even Malcom went there to withdraw, suffering from a chronic inability to be interested in the rigmarde of "making a living" in the modern world.

Now another argument. Janey's scoffing at the "artists" painting old galleys washed up on sunset beaches for the tourist.

- It's so painfully disappointing! This isn't Art!
- This guy's doign pictures, that guy's doing stained pine chairs, that guy's making sandals... what's your problem with that - it's just making a living! Why do you expect the spirit of Art to always dwell in painting or poetry?

All the arguments we've ever had pop up from behind the fence saying "there's going to be a fight" . The nude-girls-in-the-newspapers is there. also the inadequacies-of-the-Social-Services.

- You can't change the whole world by eanting and raving - you've got to just concentrate on here and now.
- Look, Alec, you'll see it all differently when you've got my ears.

Something comes to a halt right here.
